BAD school pictures and it's ALL MY fault!

School picture day today.

Destan had on his Wranglers and boots and belt and button up shirt. He walked in the door after school w/ his shirt untucked and I noticed it was buttoned crooked.

"Please tell me you changed for PE today."

"No, we didn't have PE"

"Did you unbutton your shirt at school or change for some reason?"

"No" (he's now looking at me funny)

"YOU TOOK PICTURES WITH YOUR SHIRT BUTTONED CROOKED?"

(shrug and looking down at his shirt) "Hmmm, Oh well."

I just shook my head and started laughing at him. By 5th grade you should be able to button your shirt straight!

So, he proceeded to unbutton and figure out why it was crooked. After a minute he came over to me and said he couldn't get it straight. I got to looking and the point of the collar was buttoned on to the second button down on front rather than the little button up by the collar where it was supposed to be. So the button he should have started with was already taken.

Yep, that was me. TOTALLY my fault!!! I remember buttoning the collar back down this morning after I ironed it.

Apparently I missed .

I KNOW I gave him a once-over before he left this morning. And you would think the photographer or the school clerk or his teacher would have noticed. It's SO obvious. Ugh!

I can't decide what to do now. I would LOVE to see the pictures and have at least one copy (yeah, that's the scrapbooker in me!) but geez, for what I paid I really don't want bad pictures! And maybe it won't even show in them (I'm hoping). Guess I'll call Nancy in the morning and have her check it atleast. (Thank goodness for local photographers!)

Lesson learned!

Edited to add- Hopefully no one is expecting great school pictures this year. Both of the little ones were turkey's this morning too. Logey gave his goofy cheesy grin and Caity refused to sit there, so barely got one of her looking at the camera, and not even remotely smiling. *sigh*

What can I say! : )
I've done some silly "Mom" things along the way too, and it just helps to know that you can see it for what it is and keep on smiling. Your Mom would still be stewing and having a fit at herself, if it had happened to me 20 years ago. Thank heavens I have learned to let things go - or at least I try to and do better than I ever used to. : )
