The islands

The first day we went to St. Thomas and the second day we were on St. Maarten. Both were so beautiful! I would go back in a second. I like St. Thomas a little better of the two though. On St. Thomas we went Snuba diving. It is similar to scuba diving, but there are 3-4 people hooked to a tank that is floating in a little raft above you on the surface and you have a tube going up to the tank. We were both a little apprenhensive about it, but after 10 minutes practicing breathing in a few feet of water, we took off and were underwater for about a half hour, going down to about 20 feet deep. It was INCREDIBLE! We both just loved it and had no troubles whatsoever. We saw so many fish and plants and starfish. And.....we saw a sea turtle. It's not uncommon there, but it was kind of out of season, and this was the first one they had see for a few months! Just amazing! The rest of the day on St. Thomas we went shopping. In St. Maarten we went on a bus tour of the island (not our first choice, but our other excursion was canceled) then went to the beach in the afternoon.
